Solutions were received from Kirk Bresniker, Gary Brensike, David Madfes, Denis Borris, Adrean Atanasiu, and Philippe Fondanaiche.  Solutions are below.  Many people pointed out that there was much more "trial and error" in these puzzles than in a true Sudoku, where solving can usually travel from one square to another with less guesswork.  One outstanding question might be - how many clues would be needed to achieve such a puzzle?
